I’m Brian Johnson of Brin Sound and I design sound for AAA games and game cinematics. I’m on a mission to take sound design from craft to a fine art. My obsession with effect and impact of sound when synced to picture has led me to design iconic moments in AAA games.
My Career in Sound
I am a Principal Sound Designer for Blizzard Entertainment’s cinematics team. I work with each franchise’s cinematics, in-game cutscenes, and trailers, where I have designed over 500 shows. Shaping the sonic universes of World of Warcraft, Overwatch, Diablo IV, and Diablo Immortal, is a dream come true.
Before Blizzard I worked in-house for Activision’s Call of Duty franchise, shipping Infinite Warfare, World War II, Call of Duty Online, and Black Ops 4 as a senior sound designer. Prior to Activision, I designed and mixed documentaries, short films, advertisements, and television shows with Defacto Sound.
I have received TEC, GANG and Golden Reel Awards for my linear and interactive sound design in games and short form animation.

At Brin Sound I release sound libraries, freelance on special projects, and help the audio community with education and support. My Youtube channel is where I share behind-the-scenes, tutorials, and inspiration.
I’ve made a career from the advice of industry professionals and using incredible sound libraries from talented recordists. My SlipStream and SpellBound libraries as well as my youtube channel are how I give back to my colleagues and our sound design community.
